اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا سِدْرَة
To my Sidrah
By the time your eyes reach these words, my heart has already said them a hundred times over. I do not know all the days that are coming — but I know I want to meet them beside you.
You came into my life the way rain comes to dry earth — quietly, and then everything is greener. I promise to be gentle with your heart, patient with your worries, and grateful for you out loud, not just in silence.
I ask Allah to make me the kind of husband the Prophet ﷺ described as the best — the best to his family. And I ask Him to make you the coolness of my eyes, and to let us grow old on the same path, still choosing each other.
Whatever this world gives or withholds, let us hold to Him, and to each other. That is my whole plan.
Yours, before the nikah and after it,
— Mirza Areeb Baig
